Yes, I know it’s only April, and the doom-mongers are forecasting snow before Easter, but whatever. In my head, summer is just around the corner and it’s only going to be a matter of weeks before us girls are skipping around town in skimpy summer dresses with bare legs and flip flops (judging by some of the outfits I’ve observed on the tube over the last couple of weeks, I’m way behind on this one). In anticipation, I’ve decided to start using my lovely new Timothy Han candle, which I was actually saving for the summer months, but what the hell. I realise this sounds a bit sad, but during winter, I prefer sweet, spicy, musky and warming smells, and this candle is a heady, summery mix of lemongrass, marjoram and lavender. Sharp, light and refreshing, its citrussy, tropical scent somehow transports me from my slightly gloomy living room in South London to a beach in Thailand at the strike of a match. Bliss. Banana Colada anyone?
